Københavns Universitet (UCPH) is the leading university in Denmark and one of the top universities in Europe. The Department of Chemistry has 50 academic staff members, with more than 10 working within theoretical chemistry. This strong focus on theory provides a strong basis for top research in different areas of theoretical chemistry, chemical reactivity being one of these. Among others, state-of-the-art methods in reaction predictions, genetic algorithms in application to molecular design and metadynamics at semi-empirical level were developed at UCPH.
