Dr. Igor Tetko obtained an MSc in Physics (with distinction) from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and a PhD in bioorganic chemistry from the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences before completing a habilitation in Chemoinformatics at the University of Strasbourg. Since 2001, Dr. Tetko has led the Chemoinformatics group at the Institute of Structural Biology of HMGU. He has co-authored more than 200 publications in chemoinformatics, bioinformatics, neuroinformatics, computational chemistry, environmental toxicity, and machine learning. He co-chaired the ICANN2019 conference (with ca 500 participants) and is also general chair of ICANN2024 which will take place in Lugano, Switzerland September 17-20. He is also an associate editor of ChemResTox (ACS) as well as a section editor of IJMS. He was on the 2016 list of the Most Cited Researchers in Computer Science & Engineering and has received two national awards (GO-Bio) in 2006 and 2011.

Dr. Katya Ahmad studied Chemistry at Queen Mary, University of London, graduating with an MSci degree (with First Class Honours) in 2016 before pursuing a PhD in Computational Biophysics at the Centre for Computational Science, University College London (2017-2020). She completed a Postdoc at Forschungszentrum Jülich, where she focused on application of QM/MM MD to study protein-ligand unbinding. Katya's research interests include MD simulations, QM and QM/MM MD simulations, DNA nanotechnology, and computer-aided drug discovery. She also has 5+ years of experience with tuition and and supervision of students across all age groups. Within the Chemoinformatics group at HMGU, Katya is responsible for management and administration of projects.
